Dwayne Johnson confirms role in Jumanji remake

After rumours linking him to a role in the upcoming Sony Pictures remake of Jumanji, Dwayne Johnson (Baywatch) has taken to Instagram today to confirm his involvement in the film.

It’s OFFICIAL: Love this script! Johnson will reportedly film the new version after his work on Fast & Furious 8, which is scheduled to shoot during this summer, and his hit HBO show Ballers, which is set for a third season. Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher) is directing, while Scott Rosenberg (Con Air) has written the script.

The original Jumanji was released in 1995 and grossed over $262 million worldwide. Directed by Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger), it starred the late Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, Bonnie Hunt, Jonathan Hyde, Bebe Neuwirth and David Alan Grier.

Jumanji is set for release on July 28th, 2017.
