Oscar Isaac confirmed for A Foreigner, Alfonso Gomez-Rejon to direct

May 9, 2016 by Scott J. Davis

Variety is reporting that Oscar Isaac (X-Men: Apocalypse, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) has now officially signed on to star in A Foreigner, a new thriller from Paramount Pictures.

Isaac had previously been linked to the role in the latter part of last year but now his involvement is confirmed after he was able to fit the film into his busy schedule which includes Star Wars: Episode VIII. In addition, Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl) is directing the film which has been written by Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio.

The film, based on a 2011 New Yorker article A Murder Foretold by David Grann, revolves around “a murdered Guatemalan man who arranges for videos of his killers to be distributed after his death in order to uproot the corruption that has led to other killings.”

Isaac can next be seen as En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalypse, released in the UK on May 18th and week later in the US.
