Last week we brought you the first poster for Captain Underpants, the upcoming animated movie adaptation of Dav Pilkey’s bestselling children’s book series, and now Entertainment Weekly is reporting that comedian Kristen Schaal has joined the voice cast of the DreamWorks film.
Schall is set to voice lunch lady Edith, the love-interest of Mr. Krupp (Ed Helms), the principal of Jerome Horwitz Elementary School, who unknowingly moonlights as the superhero Captain Underpants after being hypnotized by two young pupils, George (Kevin Hart) and Harold (Thomas Middleditch).
Rob Letterman (Goosebumps) is directing the film from a script by Nick Stoller (The Muppets), while the voice cast also includes Nick Kroll (Kroll Show) as Professor Poopypants and Jordan Peele (Keanu) as child genius Melvin. It is set for release on June 2nd 2017.
