Jessica Chastain to join Jake Gyllenhaal in big screen adaptation of Tom Clancy’s The Division

July 27, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Back in June it was announced that Ubisoft Motion Pictures has tapped Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) to produce and star in an adaptation of the hit video game Tom Clancy’s The Division, and now THR has revealed that Jessica Chastain (Crimson Peak) is in talks to join him in the cast.

The Division takes place in a dystopian New York City following a smallpox pandemic, and sees the player as an agent of the Strategic Homeland Division who is searching for the origins of the outbreak whilst society descends into chaos.

Much like they did with the Michael Fassbender-headlined Assassin’s Creed and the Tom Hardy Splinter Cell project, Ubisoft is packaging The Division before taking it out to interested studios. As yet, there’s no word on a writer or director.
