Dan Harmon may have accidentally revealed a surprise villain from Doctor Strange

August 28, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Warning. Potential spoilers for Doctor Strange follow. You have been warned…

Earlier this week it was revealed that Community co-creator Dan Harmon has contributed rewrites to the script for Doctor Strange, and now it seems he may have also let slip the identity of a mystery villain appearing in addition to Mads Mikkelsen’s Kaecilius. And no, we’re not talking about Baron Mordo.

During an episode of his podcast Harmontown, Harman showed a list of files on his computer, with an eagle eyed Reddit user spotting a Final Draft file entitled ‘Strange Confronts Dormammu’.Take a look for yourself…

The video has since been edited to blur out the filenames, which means it’s probably a pretty safe bet that this is legit.

If you’re unfamiliar with Dormammu, the character made his debut way back in 1964’s Strange Tales, and was created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. He’s one of Strange’s most powerful adversaries (and one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel universe, for that matter), and is a warlord from the Dark Dimension who is hell bent on universal conquest.

Marvel’s Doctor Strange follows the story of the talented neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a tragic car accident, must put ego aside and learn the secrets of a hidden world of mysticism and alternate dimensions. Based in New York City’s Greenwich Village, Doctor Strange must act as an intermediary between the real world and what lies beyond, utilizing a vast array of metaphysical abilities and artifacts to protect the Marvel cinematic universe.

Doctor Strange is set for release on October 28th in the UK and November 4th in the US, with Scott Derrickson (Sinister) directing a cast that includes Benedict Cumberbatch (Sherlock) as Stephen Strange, Tilda Swinton (Snowpiercer) as The Ancient One, Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years a Slave) as Baron Mordo, Benedict Wong (The Martian) as Wong, Rachel McAdams (True Detective) as Christine Palmer and Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal) as Kaecilius and Benjamin Bratt (The Infiltrator).
