TV adaptation of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind in development

October 8, 2016 by Gary Collinson

It looks like Michel Gondry and Charlie Kaufman’s Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is the latest movie in line for a TV adaptation, with THR reporting that Anonymous Content and Universal Cable Productions are developing a remake of the romantic drama.

According to the site, Zev Borow (Chuck) is close to signing a deal to script the project, which is being executive produced by Richard Brown (True Detective). Neither director Gondry or screenwriter Kaufman are involved with the TV remake.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind starred Jim Carrey and Kate Winslet as an estranged couple who have erased each other from their memories. The critically acclaimed film won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, while Kate Winslet was also nominated for Best Actress.
