Rumour: Fox to revisit the Dark Phoenix Saga for next X-Men movie

November 11, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Now, this report comes from Latino-Review, so it’s probably pure speculation, but the site is reporting that 20th Century Fox is looking to revisit the Dark Phoenix Saga from the next instalment of the main X-Men franchise.

The rumour comes hot on the heels of yesterday’s report that Fox is looking to “reconfigure” the X-Men franchise following this year’s X-Men: Apocalypse (which heavily suggested that we’d be seeing The Dark Phoenix in a future movie). It’s also essentially the same rumour we got back in April from another sketchy source in Heroic Hollywood.

The next instalment in the main X-Men series is yet to be officially announced, although writer-producer Simon Kinberg – who previously tackled the Dark Phoenix Saga in X-Men: The Last Stand – is said to be working on the screenplay at present.

Would you like to see Fox taking a second crack at bringing the Dark Phoenix Saga to the big screen? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
