Sacha Baron Cohen set for remake of Danish comedy Klown

November 6, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Screen Daily is reporting that Annapurna Pictures has snapped up the rights to an English-language remake of the 2010 Danish comedy Klown, with Sacha Baron Cohen (Grimsby) attached to star.

The original film was directed by Mikkel Norgaard and “follows a man who tries to prove his fatherhood potential to his pregnant girlfriend by ‘kidnapping’ her 12-year-old nephew and tags along to his best friend’s debauched weekend canoe trip.”

Norgaard is returning to direct the remake, while Cohen will also produce the film alongside Todd Schulman under their Four By Two production company, alongside Megan Ellison of Annapurna.
