Vin Diesel says Paramount wants a fourth xXx movie

January 12, 2017 by Samuel Brace

According to star Vin Diesel, his new film xXx: Return of Xander Cage might not be the end for the franchise.

Speaking to Variety at the film’s London premiere on Tuesday, he mentioned that Paramount – the studio behind the movie – have already expressed desire for a fourth film in the series.

“Well, it’s funny,” Diesel said when the topic was brought up. “I was in the middle of an interview and Brad Grey (who runs Paramount) calls me and says, ‘Will everybody come back to work in May?’ I’m like – everyone’s in interviews right now!”

Paramount have yet to comment themselves on a potential fourth xXx but it seems like the will is there. We’ll just have to see how the world takes to the current flick.

The third explosive chapter of the blockbuster franchise that redefined the spy thriller finds extreme athlete turned government operative Xander Cage (Vin Diesel) coming out of self-imposed exile and on a collision course with deadly alpha warrior Xiang and his team in a race to recover a sinister and seemingly unstoppable weapon known as Pandora’s Box. Recruiting an all-new group of thrill-seeking cohorts, Xander finds himself enmeshed in a deadly conspiracy that points to collusion at the highest levels of world governments. Packed with the series’ signature deadpan wit and bad-ass attitude, xXx: The Return of Xander Cage will raise the bar on extreme action with some of the most mind-blowing stunts to ever be caught on film.

xXx: Return of Xander Cage is set for release on January 19th in the UK and January 20th in the States and stars Vin Diesel, Samuel L. Jackson, Ruby Rose, Deepika Padukone, Nina Dobrev, Toni Collette, Tony Jaa, Rory McCann, Michael Bisping, Nicky Jam, Neymar Jr., Kris Wu and Donnie Yen.
