February 16, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Moonlight star Mahershala Ali has signed on to star in the upcoming action thriller Triple Frontier, which will see him appearing alongside Channing Tatum and Tom Hardy.

The film is being directed by J.C. Chandor (All Is Lost, A Most Violent Year) from a script by Oscar-winner Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty) and is described as “an action-adventure story set in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina, and Brazil.”

In addition to Moonlight, for which he is nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars, he also recently appeared in Free State of Jones and Hidden Figures, along with Netflix’s Marvel series Luke Cage.
