Arnie returning for Terminator, Marvel Zombies movie, Black Widow meets the Guardians of the Galaxy and more – Daily News Roundup

April 4, 2017 by admin

HE’LL BE BACK

Although it was announced last week that The Terminator franchise was – thankfully – finally Terminated, its star Arnold Schwarzenegger has revealed he will be back for another film. “I’m looking forward to doing another Terminator movie, yes.” Schwarzenegger said. “I don’t want to call it, like, fake news, like the president calls it, but I think people just write things — I have no idea why. Just because Paramount doesn’t want to pick up the Terminator franchise, you have 15 other studios willing to do it — that doesn’t mean the Terminator franchise is finished, right? It just means they are on their way to negotiate with another studio, but I can’t give you the details of that. They’ll announce that. But, yes, the Terminator franchise is never finished. And remember that after 2018, James Cameron is getting it back, and then it will continue on.” So, there you have it. Read more about that story here.

MARVEL ZOMBIES

It ran off a cliff towards the end, but fans really enjoyed Marvel’s bizarre spin-off Marvel Zombies comic book series, which saw their characters become members of the flesh-eating undead. Someone who has expressed an interest in turning that into something more than a comic book is director Ben Wheatley. “I don’t really know how those things work,” he said. “Marvel Zombies hasn’t been done which is what I’m interested in. Maybe that’s a bit too niche. Marvel’s interesting in that it’s kind of a hybrid of cinema and television. A very, very expensive TV show that you buy a pass for every three months.” Read more about that story here.

BEAUTY AND THE BOX OFFICE

As we predicted on the Flickering Myth Podcast last year, Beauty and the Beast is well on its way to becoming the first billion dollar picture of 2017, as it crossed the $875 million mark over the weekend. Read more about that story here.

ALIEN SPOTS

Three new TV spots were released for Alien: Covenant over the weekend. Check them out here, but they are quite spoiler-y.

JESSICA JONES 2

Production has now wrapped on The Defenders, but that doesn’t mean that Kristen Ritter can rest up. As reported over the weekend, the second season of Jessica Jones has begun production in New York City. Read more about that story here.

MARY SET PHOTOS

Some more set photos from Mary Poppins Returns featuring Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda landed online, which you can check out here.

SCAR-JO V GOTG

Black Widow is set to come face-to-face with the Guardians of the Galaxy in Avengers: Infinity War (which is currently filming now), but Scarlett Johansson doesn’t seem that phased by it. “Somebody said to me the other day, they were like: ‘Is Black Widow ready for the Guardians of the Galaxy?’” said Johansson. “The last time aliens descended on New York I think my character was like, ‘Alright, I’ve seen it all. I’m good.’ So I don’t even think like a talking tree will faze her at this point. As long as it feels true to me, then this conversation with another character is fine — even if it’s a tree. But certainly, reading the script, the universe has expanded to a point where it just… It’s like incomprehensible at this point. I’m just like, ‘Okay, this is all happening,’” Read more about that story here.
