Rogue One creator is ‘tinkering with’ a new Star Wars Anthology idea

April 28, 2017 by Jordan Jones

The man who created the concept for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Industrial Light & Magic’s John Knoll, is hard at work on another idea for an upcoming installment in the Star Wars Anthology series. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at a ‘Rogue One Super Session’ during the National Association of Broadcasters Show, Knoll had this to say:

“I have another idea I’ve been tinkering with. It’s maybe 75 percent there. I haven’t pitched it to [Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy]. It’s another Star Wars thing…There’s no reason to think Disney is going to stop wanting to make Star Wars movies if there’s quality and there’s interest. It has unlimited potential. It has a huge number of characters, worlds … It’s a massive playground.”

Given the high-praise of Rogue One, let’s hope that Knoll has another winning idea in the works. Until we hear more, we have Star Wars: The Last Jedi to look forward to, releasing December 13th, 2017, followed by the Han Solo movie in 2018 and Star Wars: Episode IX in 2019.
