UPDATE: Robert Zemeckis in talks to direct DC’s The Flash

April 27, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Having passed through the hands of Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa, it looks like Warner Bros. may have potentially found its next director for The Flash solo movie, with Screen Junkies reporting that Back to the Future and Forrest Gump helmer Robert Zemeckis is in talks with Warner Bros. about the film.

‘Ace Scooper’ El Mayimbe quickly jumped on the report, stating that it’s “not true” Zemeckis is in talks and that Warner Bros. are still meeting with other directors.

Not true. NOT in talks. He took a meeting and that is it. They're still meeting with other directors. https://t.co/I6jcXsmcVa

Of course, his should be treated as a rumour until we hear something official, but the prospect of Zemeckis taking on a superhero movie is certainly a tantalising one.

UPDATE: Well, it seems unlikely that Zemeckis will be directing The Flash, as he has set his next film, a remake of the 2010 documentary Marwencol, for release on November 21st 2018.

Do you think Zemeckis would make a good fit for The Flash? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…
