Conjuring 2 spin off The Crooked Man is in development

June 14, 2017 by Samuel Brace

A spin off from The Conjuring 2 entitled The Crooked Man is now in development.

The film will be based on a story by James Wan in his role as the main architect of what is being called The Conjuring Universe.

The Crooked Man takes its name from the character appearing in The Conjuring 2, and will be written by Mike Van Waes, with Wan and Peter Safran producing.

The proposed movie is the fourth spinoff from Wan’s 2013 film The Conjuring, with the others being Annabelle, Annabelle: Creation, and The Nun.

So far The Conjuring and The Conjuring 2, along with 2014’s Annabelle, have grossed $897 million at the global box office. Annabelle: Creation will open on August 11th and The Nun is set to open on July 13th, 2018.

The two initial Conjuring films starred Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga as paranormal researchers Ed and Lorraine Warren.
