Dazzler to appear in X-Men: Dark Phoenix

June 23, 2017 by Gary Collinson

According to Entertainment Weekly, Dazzler is set to make her big screen debut in next year’s X-Men: Dark Phoenix, with the site reporting that the mutant pop star will feature in a small role in the next instalment of the main X-Men franchise.

Dazzler was actually referenced in a deleted scene from X-Men: Apocalypse, with Jean (Sophie Turner) and Cyclops (Tye Sheridan) spotting one of her albums during their trip to the mall. Turner shared an image from the scene on social media, making reference to 1989, which led to speculation that Taylor Swift could be portraying the character, particularly as she’d previously paid a visit to the set of the film; however, EW is claiming that their are no plans at present to cast Swift in the role for Dazzler’s appearance in Dark Phoenix.

If you’re unfamiliar with the character of Dazzler, she is a mutant who is able to convert sound vibrations into light beams. She first met the X-Men during one of her shows, aiding them when they came under attack by the Hellfire Club.
