UPDATE: Sunspot and Moonstar cast in X-Men: The New Mutants

Teen Wolf and 13 Reasons Why star Henry Zaga has been confirmed as joining the cast of 20th Century Fox’s upcoming X-Men spinoff X-Men: The New Mutants, where he will play Roberto da Costa, a.k.a. Sunspot. The character previously appeared in X-Men: Days of Future Past, where he was played by Adan Canto.

UDPATE: THR is also reporting that Blu Hunt (The Originals) has secured the role of the Native American telepath Danielle Moonstar, who is said to be the most important character in the script, and central to the film’s Demon Bear storyline.

X-Men: The New Mutants is being directed by Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars), while the cast includes Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) as Wolfsbane, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch) as Magik, Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things) as Cannonball, Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why) as Sunspot, Blu Hunt (The Originals) as Danielle Moonstar and Rosario Dawson (The Defenders) as Dr. Cecilia Reyes.
