Rumoured details on Thanos’ Black Order in Avengers: Infinity War

June 13, 2017 by Amie Cranswick

As we’ve already seen from spy photos from the Edinburgh set of Avengers: Infinity War, Earth’s Mightiest Heroes won’t just find themselves going up against Thanos in next year’s Marvel superhero epic.

Several motion capture performers were spotted on set carrying weapons similar to that of the Black Order, the Mad Titan’s generals in the Marvel comic book universe, while Terry Notary (Kong: Skull Island) revealed that he is playing Thanos’ right hand man and is working alongside three other actors.

We still don’t have official confirmation as to who these mystery villains are, but according to MCU Exchange the movie won’t stick strictly to the source material, and that said characters won’t be referred to as the Black Order, but rather the children of Thanos.

This links in to the line from Nebula from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, where Nebula states to Gamora: “You are a disappointment sister; out of all our siblings, I hated you least.”

The report goes on to claim that while it’s not clear which four of the five members of the Black Order will feature in the movie, it is expected that Proxima Midnight and Corvus Glaive will be among them.

As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality. Everything the Avengers have fought for has led up to this moment – the fate of Earth and existence itself has never been more uncertain.

Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th 2018 in the UK and May 4th 2018 in the US and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Sean Gunn (Rocket) Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Benicio Del Toro (The Collector), Winston Duke (Man-Ape) and Peter Dinklage and Terry Notary in unconfirmed roles.
