Jenna Coleman reportedly returning as Clara Oswald in Doctor Who Christmas Special

It looks like the First Doctor may not be the only familiar face appearing in the Doctor Who Christmas Special, with The Mirror reporting that Jenna Coleman is set to reprise her role as Clara Oswald.

“Jenna Coleman has agreed to film something new as Clara,” states the tabloid’s source. “It’s become a tradition now for the companions to reappear as the Doctor regenerates and Jenna isn’t letting the side down. It’ll help to give Peter the send-off he deserves after three years.”

The Christmas Special will mark the final outing for both Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor and showrunner Steven Moffat. Apparently both Pearl Mackie (Bill Potts) and Matt Lucas (Nardole) will also briefly appear, along with David Bradley as the First Doctor, before a new Doctor and Companion are introduced under incoming showrunner Chris Chibnall (Broadchurch).
