Justice League reshoot troubles, Avengers: Infinity War runtime, Bond 25 release date and more – Daily News Roundup

July 26, 2017 by admin

STAND TOGETHER… IN RESHOOTS

Reports from a few months ago suggested that the Justice League reshoots were much greater than Warner Bros. were letting on. Even at San Diego Comic Con, Cyborg Ray Fisher claimed they were “brief if anything”. However a new report from Variety is saying otherwise. According to the outlet, Warner Bros. are spending upwards of $25 million on the reshoots, and conflicting schedules are causing havoc. Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot are fine as they currently have no other projects, but Jason Mamoa is jumping between this and Aquaman, and Ezra Miller is having to work around Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2. More troubling however is Henry Cavill, who is currently filming Mission: Impossible 6 with a brilliant moustache. The report claims Warner Bros. are having to spend more money to digitally remove the stache in post-production so we have a clean shaven Man of Steel. Read more here.

TOLKIEN BIOPIC

According to Deadline, Finnish filmmaker Dome Karukoski (The Home of Dark Butterflies) is set to direct Tolkien, a biopic of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit author J.R.R. Tolkien. Read more here.

INFINITY LENGTH

During San Diego Comic Con, co-director Joe Russo spoke about the runtime of Avengers: Infinity War – which is understandably large given the huge cast. “The current cut is over two and a half [hours],” said Russo. “Most of it’s a movie you could show, but there’s still a lot of work left to be done, I still have a couple of scenes that we haven’t finished from Avengers 3 that I’m shooting in the next few months with my brother, and it’s certainly gonna be a film that lives in the two and a half hour, two and a half hour-plus range.” Read more here.
