James Gunn teases Nathan Fillion appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3

August 24, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Director James Gunn has teased whether or not Nathan Fillion will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The Guardians films are full of surprises, with the most recent outing containing some fun cameos for fans to enjoy. One of which was supposed to be actor Nathan Fillion, scheduled to appear as Simon Williams/Wonder Man.

His role was eventually cut from the film, however, but Gunn has offered fans a small tease regarding if we might see Fillion in the next Guardians movie.

Speaking during a Facebook Live Q&A, Gunn said: “Will he be in [Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3]? I don’t know yet. I haven’t made up my mind.”

While Gunn sounds uncertain, or at least not ready to reveal anything, Fillion has in the past suggested that he would be interested in the idea.

“If you know the Marvel Universe, Simon Williams becomes Wonder Man, becomes an Avenger. So, he’s part of that universe. It was a neat little Easter egg, it was a neat little piece of the universe. It didn’t get into the movie. That’s fine. That happens all the time. I still had the same wonderful experience. But moving forward, I don’t know, let me see what we can do with this opportunity. That’s just a cleverly disguised opportunity. Am I right?”
