Madmole showcases motion capture animations and new vehicles in latest 7 Days to Die Alpha 17 video

November 11, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Joel Huenink (AKA Madmole) of The Fun Pimps reveals another video showcasing new features of Alpha 17 of 7 Days to Die.  This latest video shows off some of the motion capture animations for the characters and also for some new vehicles.  We are only just setting foot into the Alpha 17 territory and already it is looking better than we could have hoped for.  Watch the new video below…

Starting off the new video Joel introduces us to the new motion capture animations for both a male and a female character walking and running.  Anyone who has ever played multiplayer in this game and watched their friends running around will see this is a huge improvement.  There is the desire to make the female character’s movements a bit more feminine but as it stands at the moment this improvement does add a degree of realism to the game.  Joel also stated he would once again like to see the option to play in third person again.

We are treated to a glimpse of a couple of new vehicles: the bicycle and the motorcycle.  The bike looks pretty cool but I’d imagine that the speed for it will be dropped a bit, although Joel does say that it will go faster at the expense of stamina.  The Motorcycle is a beast of machine, it looks good and sounds pretty good too and talking about sound, the sound for the current minibike has changed and the engine sounds will vary depending on the speed you are travelling at.  There is also a glimpse at the concept art for our first 4 wheeled vehicle, the pick up truck but even better news is that once the work for this vehicle is completed they are going to start looking at creating boats and helicopters, yes you did read that right, HELICOPTERS!

Finally, remember those old intact cars scattered around the roads and towns that were only good for breaking apart with your trusty wrench? Well, the last section of the video sees Joel driving around in one of them.

Is Alpha 17 getting you excited? Leave a comment below…
