Power Rangers and Stranger Things star sparks speculation that he has been cast as Nightwing

November 5, 2017 by Gary Collinson

A couple of months ago we heard from The LEGO Batman Movie director Chris McKay that he and Warner Bros. are “casting a wide net” in their search for an actor to take on the role of Dick Grayson in DC Film’s Nightwing solo movie, and now Power Rangers and Stranger Things star Dacre Montgomery has sparked speculation that their search may be over.

Montgomery took to Twitter to share an image of Nightwing, captionining it simply “…”. Now of course, this could be nothing at all – perhaps he’s just a fan of the character – but interestingly he did delete the tweet minutes later (although not before somebody managed to grab a screenshot)…

Even if Montgomery hasn’t been cast as Dick, it’s certainly more than plausible that he could have secured himself an audition for the role, or perhaps he’s just lobbying for the part and looking to create some buzz.

As yet, Nightwing is without a release date, and was absent from Warner Bros.’ DC Films slate announcement at the San Diego Comic-Con. However, Warner and DC have made a habit of shuffling their slate, so it could well come together quickly once the studio has a script and star in place.
