December 19, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Get your plastic spoons ready, as fresh from the success of James Franco’s critical and commercial hit The Disaster Artist, it has been announced that Franco’s inspiration – The Room – is set for a wide theatrical release in the U.S.

THR has revealed that Fathom Events is set to bring Tommy Wiseau’s cult classic to 600 U.S. theaters  for a special one-day release on January 10th, which will be accompanied by a trailer for Wiseau and actor Greg Sestero’s new film Best F(r)iends).

First released into just two theaters in 2003, Wiseau’s self-funded film has been labelled as “the worst movie ever made”, but has gained a strong cult following in the years since its release.
