Danny McBride’s Dundee isn’t a movie

As soon as the ‘trailer’ debuted for a sequel to 80s blockbuster Crocodile Dundee starring Danny McBride, there were those who questioned its validity as a genuine film, and now those doubters have been proved right with the news that Dundee is in fact a promotional publicity stunt for Australia.

The Brisbane Times outed the Tourism Australia campaign, which features McBride as Brian Dundee, son of Paul Hogan’s Mick, with Chris Hemsworth co-starring as Wally, and will culminate in a Super Bowl TV spot on February 4th.

It’s an impressive ruse, albeit one that had enough clues to indicate it might not be all it seemed (Hemsworth has been filming Infinity War, there were no se reports or casting news), but don’t be surprised if this hasn’t got a Hollywood writing room coming up with potential scripts.
