Boyd Holbrook reteaming with Netflix for In the Shadow of the Moon

February 23, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Narcos star Boyd Holbrook is set to reunite with Netflix, as Variety is reporting that the actor is set to headline the “genre-bending thriller” In the Shadow of the Moon, which is being directed by Jim Mickle (Hap and Leonard) from a script by Gregory Weidman and Geoff Tock.

“Gregory and Geoff’s script is such a great mind bender and beautifully weaves together all my favorite genres,” said Mickle. “Boyd is going to eat this role alive and show why he’s one of the best young actors working today. We’re lucky to have an incredibly talented producing team and a home like Netflix that’s excited to take chances. Any studio that makes Okja has a permanent place in my heart.”

“We are thrilled to be partnered with Netflix on In the Shadow of the Moon,” added producer Brian Kavanaugh-Jones. “Jim Mickle is a visionary director and with the spectacular Boyd Holbrook starring, we have a partnership between director and leading man that promises a uniquely special film.”

Holbrook was recently seen as the villain Donald Pierce in Logan, and will next be seen on the big screen as the lead in Shane Black’s The Predator, which is set to open in September.
