DC’s live-action Titans series casts Bruno Bichir as The Chief

February 16, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Bruno Bichir (Absentia, Narcos) has been cast in DC’s live-action Teen Titans series Titans, where he will portray the character of Dr. Niles ‘The Chief’ Caulder.

The character description for The Chief reads: “a pioneer in medical science, searching the world over for those on the edge of death in need of a miracle. Brilliant, but controversial, Dr. Caulder will stop at nothing to help those he believes are in need, including his collection of strange heroes known as The Doom Patrol.”

Bichir joins a cast that includes Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Robin, Teagan Croft (The Osiris Child) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Starfire, Ryan Potter (Big Hero 6) as Beast Boy, Alan Ritchson (Smallville) as Hawk, Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Dove, Lindsey Gort (Lucifer) as Detective Amy Rohrbach and Seamus Dever (Castle) in an as-yet-unrevealed role.

From executive producers Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, TITANS is an all-new live-action drama series that follows a group of young soon-to-be Super Heroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In this action-packed series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes, including Starfire, Raven and many others. TITANS is a dramatic, live-action adventure series that will explore and celebrate one of the most popular comic book teams ever.

Titans will debut on the new DC streaming service later this year.
