Deadpool 2 spoofs Flashdance with new poster

February 6, 2018 by Ricky Church

The marketing for Deadpool 2 has been just as strange and full of out-of-the-box, breaking the fourth wall ideas as the original. First we received a teaser parodying Superman: The Movie and then we got another teaser of the Merc with a Mouth pretending to be painter Bob Ross as well as making fun of the painting ‘The Creation of Adam’. Now the film has released a new poster, this time parodying the 1983 dance film Flashdance, with Deadpool doing his own take on the film’s iconic pose. Check it out below…

While we didn’t get a TV spot during the Super Bowl this past weekend, rumours suggest a new trailer will be released on Valentine’s Day – the second anniversary of Deadpool‘s release – and paired in theatres with Black Panther.

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

Deadpool 2 sees David Leitch (John Wick) directing a cast that includes returning stars Ryan Reynolds (Wade Wilson), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), T.J. Miller (Weasel), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al) and Karan Soni (Dopinder) alongside new additions Zazie Beetz (Atlanta) as Domino, Josh Brolin (Avengers: Infinity War) as Cable, Jack Kesy (The Strain) as the film’s villain, and Shioli Kutsuna (The Outsider), Eddie Marsan (Atomic Blonde) and Julian Dennison (Hunt for the Wilderpeople) in as-yet-unrevealed roles. It is set for release on May 18th 2018.
