Rumour: Woody Harrelson playing Carnage in the Venom movie?

February 16, 2018 by Gary Collinson

A few days ago a rumour surfaced claiming to offer details on Carnage’s role in Sony’s upcoming Venom solo movie, with the report claiming that the character of Cletus Kasady would make a fleeting appearance towards the end of the film.

According to That Hashtag Show, Eddie Brock will find himself in San Quentin prison, where he’s introduced to Kasady and we see a portion of the symbiote making its way towards the serial killer before the screen cuts to black, setting up Carnage for an appearance in the sequel.

Well the site is now claiming that Kasady will be played by director Ruben Fleischer’s Zombieland co-star Woody Harrelson, who was announced as cast in the movie back in December, and was not seen once during all of the set photos that emerged during production.

We should stress that this appears to be little more than speculation, although it is certainly within the realm of possibility. If true, what do you make of the casting? Let us know in the comments below…

Directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland), Venom is set for release on October 5th 2018 and features a cast that includes Tom Hardy, Riz Ahmed, Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Jenny Slate, Reid Scott and Scott Haze.
