Tommy Wiseau wants to bring The Room to Broadway

March 4, 2018 by Jordan Jones

Not long ago, Tommy Wiseau teased a 3D version of The Room. Thought we had reached the apex of where 3D could take cinema? Think again. Now, not simply content with innovating the world of 3D, Tommy Wiseau is now setting his sights another way. BROADway, that is.

That’s right: in the distant future, you may be seeing a long-haired man of questionable nationality singing a duet entitled “OH HI MARK (So how’s your sex life?)” on stage at a theater near you.

Interviewing with Screen Rant, Wiseau made the big reveal:

“First I want to do The Room on Broadway. That will be the first thing. Keep an eye – not off-Broadway – on Broadway.”

We have been hearing a lot from Wiseau these days, which isn’t surprising. He’s milking all of the publicity he can out of the recent success of James Franco’s The Disaster Artist, based on Wiseau’s work. Since then, we have heard from Wiseau weekly, including his desire to direct a Star Wars film, and his bid to be the next Joker. Also, not content to just have one hit up his sleeve, the trailer for Wiseau’s upcoming film Best F(r)iends is available online.

Seriously though: This could actually be an amazing idea. What do you think about adapting a terrible film into a terrible play/ musical? Let us know in the comments!

… You can find Jordan on Twitter, and Facebook.
