The Walking Dead’s Tom Payne joins Scott Eastwood in wanting to play Wolverine

March 15, 2018 by Samuel Brace

Both Scott Eastwood (Pacific Rim Uprising) and Tom Payne (The Walking Dead) think they would make pretty good Wolverines if given the opportunity and have expressed desire in playing the character.

Hugh Jackman stepping down from his iconic role was of course going to open a door to a lot of hungry young actors desperate to step into his shoes and lead the X-Men.

Scott Eastwood is certainly passionate about getting the job, and has told Screen Rant that he would “100%” do it if given the opportunity:

“I love Wolverine. He’s one of my favorite comic book characters of all time. He’s a renegade. Total badass renegade. He’s kind of, you know, a loose cannon…doesn’t play by the rules…he’s the kind of character that I love.”

Eastwood has some fresh competition, however, as Tom Payne, the actor behind Jesus on The Walking Dead, thinks that being 5’7 he would be pretty well suited to the role, saying as much to TVGuide.

“If they did recast the Wolverine part, I’d be well up for it,” Payne said.”Wolverine is actually like 5’1″, or 5’2″ or something. And Hugh, he was brilliant, but he was much, much, much bigger.”

So what do you think? Eastwood or Payne? If you had to choose between these too eager actors, which one do you think would make a better Wolverine?
