Adam Sandler may replace Jonah Hill in Uncut Gems

April 2, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Originally published April 2, 2018. Updated April 1, 2018.

Hot off his casting alongside Jennifer Aniston in Netflix’s Murder Mystery, The Tracking Board is reporting that Adam Sandler is being eyed as a replacement for Jonah Hill in the thriller Uncut Gems.

The film is being directed by Joshua and Benny Safdie (Good Time) from a script by the Safdies and Ronald Bronstein, with Martin Scorsese executive producing. Plot details are being kept tightly under wraps, but we do know that it will deal with the diamond trade, and take place in the New York City Diamond District.

After earning rave reviews for Good Time starring Robert Pattinson, the Safdie brothers have found themselves in demand, with the duo also said to be in contention to remake the classic Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte buddy movie 48 Hours.

Adam Sandler will next be seen in The Week Of, his latest project at Netflix, which is set to hit the streaming service on April 27th and sees him starring alongside Chris Rock. Watch the trailer here.
