As Avengers: Infinity War begins its global rollout, tracking figures are predicting – as you might expect – that the hugely-anticipated Marvel superhero epic will enjoy one of the biggest worldwide opening weekends in history with over $500 million in box office receipts.
Domestically, analysts are projecting between $216 million and $235 million, although some are going as high as $275 million, which would smash the record opening of $247.9 million set by Star Wars: The Force Awakens back in 2015.
Globally, Infinity War is expected to gross between $475 million and $500 million, an enormous figure considering that it does not take into account China, where the film opens on May 11th.
Three films have opened to $500 million plus in Jurassic World ($524.9 million), Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($529 million) and The Fate of the Furious ($541.9 million), although all but The Force Awakens included the Chinese market.
An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.
Avengers: Infinity War opens on April 27th 2018 and will feature an all-star cast including Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Sean Gunn (Rocket, Kraglin), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Samuel L.
