James Gunn contributed to the Guardians’ dialogue in Avengers: Infinity War

April 3, 2018 by George Chrysostomou

Whilst the Russo brothers have been open with the involvement of other MCU directors in regards to the process of putting together Avengers: Infinity War, which may just be the biggest super-hero film ever, it is unknown just how involved these directors have been in regards to the script-writing process.

James Gunn, an executive producer on the film and writer/director of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, has the key to the characters that he has helped launch into the MCU. Knowing them better than any other director or writer and currently working on the third instalment of the Guardians franchise, it is no surprise that it has been revealed that Gunn worked on the dialogue for his beloved characters in their Avengers debut.

Drax the Destroyer actor and former professional wrestler Dave Bautista, revealed at an Awesome Con Q&A to SuperBroMovies that Gunn had sat down and wrote some of the dialogue for Drax and the other Guardians. What is key to note here is the level of involvement Gunn has with these characters, suggesting whatever happens in Infintiy War will likely have a profound effect upon the third Guardians instalment.

As the hype continues to build towards opening day, are you intrigued to see what contributions Gunn has made to the script and how this will impact the Guardians in the future of the MCU? Let us know in the comments section below!
