Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 stand-in from Terminator Genisys cast in the new Terminator movie

May 5, 2018 by Gary Collinson

It looks like we may be seeing more of the digitally de-aged Terminator-era Arnold Schwarzenegger in director Tim Miller and producer James Cameron’s upcoming reboot of the sci-fi action franchise.

According to The Terminator Fans, bodybuilder, stuntman and actor Brett Azar has been cast in the new Terminator movie, having previously performed as a stand-in for Arnold Schwarzenegger as the younger version of the T-800 in Terminator Genisys.

At this point it’s unclear whether Azar has been cast as his own specific character, but the assumption is that he’ll once again be serving as a pre-CGI stand-in for Schwarzenegger.

The new movie is planned as a direct sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day, with the returning Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton joined by Mackenzie Davis (Blade Runner 2049), Diego Boneta (Pretty Little Liars), Natalia Reyes (Lady) and Gabriel Luna (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) – the latter of whom is portraying a new Terminator.
