Bryan Fuller exits Anne Rice’s The Vampire Chronicles TV series

May 21, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Last year it was announced that Anne Rice and her son Christopher Rice are teaming with Paramount and Anonymous Content to adapt the book series The Vampire Chronicles for the small screen, with Bryan Fuller (Hannibal) subsequently boarding the project in a producing capacity.

Well, it seems that The Vampire Chronicles has now gone the way of American Gods and Star Trek: Discovery, with Anne Rice revealing to Nerdist that Fuller exited the project for unspecified reasons in February, just weeks after he first signed on.

Despite this setback, the project remains on track, with Christopher Rice tweeting out the cover to the script for the pilot episode ‘Wolf Killer’, which will detail the bloodsucking origins of the vampire Lestat.

The Vampire Chronicles is not expected to premiere until 2019, and as yet there’s been no word as to any potential network or streaming outlet.
