Jamie Foxx reportedly offered the title role in Todd McFarlane’s Spawn reboot

May 5, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Back in 2013 when his plans for a Spawn reboot seemed little more than a pipe dream, creator Todd McFarlane suggested on a number of occasions that he was lining up an Oscar-winner to take on the lead role of Al Simmons, and that Jamie Foxx was aggressively pursuing the part.

Well, now that McFarlane has secured financing from Blumhouse Productions, it seems Foxx is still on his radar, with That Hashtag Show reporting that an offer has been made to the star to portray the title character. Foxx is reportedly yet to make a decision on his involvement on the film, which is now slated to begin production in August after originally targeting February and May.

Although plot details are being kept under wraps, the outlet reports that the film will see Spawn sharing the spotlight as co-lead alongside Twitch Williams of Sam and Twitch fame, as the duo team up to deliver a special kind of vengeance.
