Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly and Jake Gyllenhaal star in first trailer for The Sisters Brothers

Annapurna Pictures has released the first trailer for the upcoming dark comedy western The Sisters Brothers. Based on Patrick deWitt’s 2011 award-winning novel of the same name, the film is written and directed by Jacques Audiard (Dheepan) and stars Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Riz Ahmed; watch it below…

Based on Patrick Dewitt’s acclaimed novel of the same name, follows two brothers – Eli and Charlie Sisters – who are hired to kill a prospector who has stolen from their boss. The story, a genre-hybrid with comedic elements, takes place in Oregon in 1851.
