Former Daredevil showrunner discusses his interest in a Moon Knight series

June 17, 2018 by Gary Collinson

During the promotional campaign for this year’s Pacific Rim Uprising, former Daredevil showrunner Steven S. DeKnight expressed his interest in returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe for a Moon Knight TV series.

Fans of Marc Spector have long hoped to see the character make his MCU debut, and during an interview with ComicBook, DeKnight has been talking about his desire to bring Moon Knight to the screen.

“Somebody asked me on Twitter a while back if I would do Moon Knight and I’ve always been a huge Moon Knight fan and yeah, if I had the time in my schedule and the stars aligned, I’d love to do Moon Knight,” said DeKnight. “I mean, I love the whole multiple personalities. Is he crazy? Is he not crazy? Has he really gotten these mystical powers? Are they supernatural or is it all in his head? I think it would make for a very, very interesting Marvel universe kind of Netflix show. I also hope they’ll expand and give him a shot sometime.”

It’s long been rumoured that Moon Knight is on Marvel’s “to do” list, and Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn revealed last year that he’d pitched an idea for a Moon Knight movie to Marvel, while Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige confirmed back in April that there is a plan to introduce the character at some point in the future.
