Theatre of Blood raid arrives for Old School RuneScape

June 7, 2018 by Andrew Newton

A new Raid has arrived on Old School Runescape that will see players facing off against blood thirsty warriors, nightmarish creatures and life threatening puzzles.  The new Theatre of Blood raid has been voted into the game by 90% of over 40,000 players polled.  How long do you think you will last?

Old School Runescape‘s Theatre of Blood is the second raid to come into the game (the first raid being The Chambers of Xeric) and will see players run a gauntlet that will put their lives on the line.  The survival run will include deadly battle hungry veterans, cunning traps and hellish creatures.  Those who manage to survive will then face the deadliest battle of all, a fight for survival against Lady Verzik Vitur, one of the last true born vampyres left in Gielinor.

This new PvE raid will feature a new wiping death mechanic that will place dead competitors on the sidelines so that they are able to see their surviving teammates continue fighting whatever is in that room, once the challenges in that room are overcome the spectators are revived and will continue the fight into the theatre. However, every death a party has will have a negative impact on the chance of obtaining a unique reward.

“As always, we’ve collaborated closely with the Old School RuneScape community throughout the development of Theatre of Blood to make sure it was a worthy follow up to the game’s first raid, The Chambers of Xeric.  With such an emphatic vote backing the raid, we knew it was important to deliver a really engaging challenge for players looking to run the dangerous gauntlet of the Theatre. With the invaluable feedback of our community, pro-raiders, and content creators, we have delivered a blood-sucking raid worthy of the anticipation!” – Mathew Kemp, Senior Product Manager, Old School RuneScape.

The Theatre of Blood is available now.
