Christina Applegate to lead Netflix dark comedy series Dead to Me

July 14, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Christina Applegate (Anchorman, Bad Moms) is set to headline Netflix’s half-hour dark comedy series Dead to Me, which has been described as “a comedic Big Little Lies“.

Scripted by Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls), the series explores “a powerful friendship that blossoms between a tightly wound widow and a free spirit with a shocking secret” and sees Applegate as Jen, “a poised and put-together woman with a dark sense of humor and an anger problem that she doesn’t necessarily want to deal with.”

Dead to Me marks the first TV role for Applegate in six years, and the actress – who first found fame on the small screen in the classic 80s U.S. sitcom Married… with Children – will also serve as executive producer alongside Anchorman’s Will Ferrell and Adam McKay.
