July 19, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Tony Award-nominated actress and former Miss Deaf America Lauren Ridloff (Children of a Lesser God) has been cast in a multi-episode arc in the upcoming ninth season of The Walking Dead.

Ridloff has been cast as Connie, who in the comic books is a member of a new group of survivors led by Magna, who come to live in Alexandria.

The TV version of the character is described as “a seasoned survivor deft at using her senses to read people, situations, and trouble. Her character is deaf and uses American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate.”
