Joker movie casts Alfred and young Bruce Wayne

October 24, 2018 by Matt Rodgers

While we continue to be inundated with enough set photos to create a flickbook version of the movie before it’s even released, Todd Phillips’ Joker has been adding to its cast by filling out the roles of Alfred Pennyworth and the young Bruce Wayne.

Comicbook.com has revealed that Batman’s butler and trusted aide will be played by Douglas Hodge in the Warner Bros/DC film. His credits include Robin Hood, The Night Manager, and Penny Dreadful.

Reuniting with Joaquin Phoenix’s anarchic clown meanwhile will be child actor Dante Pereira-Olson, who featured alongside the Oscar nominated actor in film-of-the-year contender, You Were Never Really Here. He has been cast as the young Bruce Wayne.

Let us know what you think of these castings and how you feel Joker is shaping up by using the comments section below…

Joker centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. Todd Phillips’ exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.

Joker is set for release on October 4th 2019 and stars Joaquin Phoenix (The Sisters Brothers), Robert De Niro (Goodfellas), Zazie Beetz (Deadpool 2), Bill Camp (Red Sparrow), Frances Conroy (American Horror Story), Brett Cullen (Narcos), Glenn Fleshler (Billions), Douglas Hodge (Penny Dreadful), Marc Maron (GLOW), Josh Pais (Motherless Brooklyn), Shea Whigham (Kong: Skull Island), Douglas Hodge (Robin Hood) and Dante Pereira-Olson (You Were Never Really Here).
