Michael Douglas confirms that the Quantum Realm is “key” in Avengers 4

October 21, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Although we’ve had nothing in the way of official plot details for Avengers 4, the prevailing fan theory for the Avengers: Infinity War follow-up is that we’ll see Earth’s Mightiest Heroes embarking on a journey through time in an effort to undo the events of ‘The Snappening’.

Key to this theory, particularly in the wake of Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, is that the Quantum Realm will play a key role in enabling our heroes to travel through time (see Michelle Pfeiffer’s Janet Van Dyne making a point of telling Scott Lang to watch out for time vortexes during his time in the alternate dimension).

Well, it seems that Ant-Man star Michael Douglas has all but confirmed this now during an appearance on On Air with Ryan Seacrest; asked how Ant-Man and the Wasp might impact to the future of the MCU, Douglas responded:

“I mean, the Quantum Realm, that’s the key. That’s the key. The Quantum Realm plays an important part in all the next chapters, I think, of the Marvel films.”

At this point, there’s been so much evidence to corroborate the time travel theory that it would be a huge surprise if Avengers 4 goes in a different direction. Hopefully with the marketing campaign due to get underway soon, we won’t have too much longer to wait until we start getting some official info on the film.
