Ezra Miller promises a “f*cking crazy-dope Flash movie”

November 19, 2018 by Gary Collinson

It’s coming up to nine months now since it was confirmed that Spider-Man: Homecoming screenwriters and Game Night directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley had boarded Warner Bros. and DC Films’ The Flash movie.

Given the lack of official updates since, it appears that the solo film is no further along than it has been at any point since it was first announced announced as part of the initial DC Extended Universe slate. However, speaking to Playboy to promote the release of his new film Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, star Ezra Miller has promised that the movie is coming, and when it does, it’ll be “fucking crazy dope”.

“Nothing is ever certain in this world, but as certain as things get, we’re making a fucking crazy-dope Flash movie,” said Miller. “It’s one of my great life dreams, and just the fact that we’re on the way—anyone who knows about Barry Allen knows he may arrive late, very late, but once he gets there, it’s all solved. We have to trust.”

The Flash was originally announced for release in 2018, but was delayed several times following the departures of directors Seth Graheme-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa over creative differences. It then morphed into an adaptation of the Flashpoint comic book storyline, before reportedly reverting to a traditional solo movie. The last we heard, production had been pushed back again due to Ezra Miller’s Fantastic Beasts 3 commitments, which extend through to late 2019, and that a 2021 release date may be on the cards.
