Relaxing puzzler Roterra coming to mobiles early 2019

November 14, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Educational gaming developer DIG-IT! Games has announced that they will be releasing their relaxing puzzle game, Roterra, on mobile devices in early 2019.  Inspired by “Orlando Furioso” – a 16th century epic poem by Ludovico Ariosto, Roterra will have players solving puzzles by rotating and sliding the cubes that make the world.  Check out the new trailer below…

In Roterra players will follow the story of Angelica, the rightful Queen of Roterra, who has lost her kingdom to her wicked power hungry brother.  With  traitorous knights hot on Angelica’s heels, players will need to solve puzzles and get past obstacles by rotating and sliding the cubes that make up her world.  Players will be able to switch between multiple characters in order to see the story from several perspectives.

The game features:

  • Challenging pathfinding puzzles of a world you can spin, rotate, turn, and slide.
  • Solve increasingly difficult challenges.
  • Experience a beautiful fairytale like environments.
  • Play as several quirky, charming characters by switching between them.
  • Uncover the truth as you make your way through each level.

“After nearly a decade of building critical thinking puzzles, we’re excited to turn our extensive experience to entertainment-focused mobile games. With Roterra, our award-winning game development team had the freedom to explore new game mechanics beyond the limitations of educational products. Our guiding design principle was a world with no ‘up’: When a character walks over the edge of a board, gravity shifts with them and parts of the environment pop up and down. The result is a perception-challenging world where things are rarely as they seem and the correct path is often not the most obvious one.”, said Suzi Keehn, CEO, DIG-IT! Games.

Roterra will be released on mobile devices in early 2019.
