Aaron Sorkin reportedly keen on a revival of The West Wing

January 11, 2019 by Gary Collinson

According to actor Richard Schiff, The West Wing creator Aaron Sorkin is keen on a revival of the Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winning political drama series.

“Aaron has said he wanted it to happen,” Schiff – who played the character of Toby Ziegler, Communications Director to Martin Sheen’s President Bartlet – tells he Popcorn Talk Network’s I Could Never Be podcast (via Dark Horizons). “[He] might go with a new administration, in which case, you know, some of us might show up as consultants…it makes no sense, maybe one or two of us to be in the White House.”

Sorkin, who won an Oscar for writing The Social Network and recently made his directorial debut on Molly’s Game, has previously revealed that network NBC had approached him about a limited series revival, and that he would be open to the prospect “if I can come up with an idea that works”.
