The Robots in Disguise are heading to Netflix, with the streaming service announcing that it is teaming with Hasbro and Rooster Teeth for a brand new animated series entitled Transformers: War for Cybertron.
Deadline reports that FJ DeSanto (Transformers: Titans Return, Transformers: Power of the Primes) will serve as showrunner on War for Cybertron, which promises to deliver a new animated look and style for the franchise and – according to Netflix – “will explore the expansive universe of Cybertron in a way that audiences have never seen before.”
“We’re thrilled to work with Rooster Teeth’s new premium studio division to bring an all-new Transformers fan-oriented series to Netflix,” states Tom Warner, SVP for the Transformers franchise at Hasbro. “Transformers has a rich history of great storytelling and War for Cybertron is an exciting new chapter in the Transformers Universe.
Transformers: War for Cybertron is slated to hit Netflix in 2020.
