AMC developing a new Orphan Black series

March 13, 2019 by George Chrysostomou

Fans were left with a satisfying conclusion as the fifth season of Orphan Black came to a close in 2017. However, just a couple of years down th eline, there are now reports suggesting that AMC is developing a brand new series set in the same universe. This is somewhat unusual as the series was originally a product of BBC America rather than AMC.

Variety first reported the news, revealing that this would not be a spin-off or a reboot, but something else entirely. Temple Street Productions, the producers of the original series, are also still on board for this new project.

Whilst it is still in the very earliest stages of development, it is good for fans of the original series to know that more of the Orphan Black world is on its way. As of now, there is no indication as to what the new series could be about, but speculation is sure to be rife with potential directions that this new show could head in.

Creared by Graeme Manson and John Fawcett, Orphan Black ran for five seasons on BBC America between 2013 and 2017 and followed Sarah Manning, a woman who discovers the existence of several of her genetic identicals, with Tatiana Maslany playing Sarah and her multiple clones.
