Pokémon Go creators reveal details for Harry Potter: Wizards Unite

March 15, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Niantic Inc., the developer behind the hugely popular AR game Pokémon Go, and WB Games San Francisco have revealed details of their upcoming AR title Harry Potter: Wizards Unite.  Set in the world of magic and muggles, Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will take players on their very own wizarding adventure.

In Harry Potter: Wizards Unite a disaster has happened in the wizarding world and suddenly artefacts, people and even creatures are mysteriously appearing in the muggle world, these objects, known as “Foundables”, need to be returned to their rightful place away from the curious minds of Muggles.

As a new recruit of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force, players will explore the world around them to find traces of magic that may lead to a Foundable.  These items are much more likely to be found near busy real world buildings such as parks, libraries, monuments etc. and once returned to the Wizarding world, players will earn unique rewards.

Spells can be cast but as players do so they consume Spell Energy, however, this can be topped up by collecting food and drink at Inns located at various Muggle locations around the world.

There’s also ingredients around that can be used to brew potions, Portkeys to that will travel to iconic locations from the Wizarding World, different schools of magic to specialise in and Fortresses to visit that will feature real-time co-op multiplayer battles against dangerous foes, including Death Eaters and Dementors.

Look out for more news on Harry Potter: Wizards Unite coming soon.
