The Fifth Element with comedian Bec Hill – The Pick of the Flicks Podcast #26

March 6, 2019 by Tom Beasley

On The Pick of the Flicks Podcast, a different guest drops in every week to chat about their favourite film. This week, stand-up comedian Bec Hill chooses to discuss Luc Besson’s loony 1990s sci-fi The Fifth Element…

On the latest episode of The Pick of the Flicks Podcast, our guest is stand-up comic Bec Hill. She chose to talk about The Fifth Element, in which Luc Besson mixes kaleidoscopic colours, ground-breaking visual effects, costumes by Gaultier and Bruce Willis before he stopped caring in order to provide something genuinely unhinged. It’s a mythology-heavy epic that benefits from some sprightly fight scenes and some joyous weirdness.
